Collection Refinement:
The Ultimate Euphemism

Program
Announcement
Sponsored by the California
State University Librarians (CSUL) Interest Group North and South
New technology has yet to save us from the need for the old-time task
formerly known as weeding. Join us as we take a practical, nuts-and-bolts
look at how it is done. We will explore policies, planning, goal-setting,
decision-making, getting faculty agreement/participation/involvement,
using collective cataloging arrangements, using the OPAC to generate lists
of candidates for weeding, de-cataloging, and the disposition of weeded
materials.
