CSU Parking Permits will be honored at CSU San Marcos for SCIL Works Attendees.

Gabriella Sontag provided a list of restaurants near CSU San Marcos and this list is posted on the SCIL Website.

Chisa Uyeki will update the SCIL poster as well as the SCIL Information Handout to increase attendees' awareness of recent and upcoming SCIL activities.

Discussion followed a suggestion by Judy Lee to provide CARL application forms at SCIL Works.  Attendees could become CARL members and the forms could be marked with SCIL to increase awareness of SCIL's impact on CARL's membership.  The CARL application forms with SCIL insignia will be made available at SCIL Works.

C.    CARL 2006 SCIL/CCLI Pre-conference Update

The speaker originally scheduled from WASC will be unable to take part in the SCIL/CCLI Pre-Conference.  Amy Wallace is working with WASC to arrange another speaker with similar experience or training with the current accreditation standards for community colleges.  CARL is providing funds to cover some of the WASC speaker's expenses.

The panel for the SCIL/CCLI Pre-Conference will include:  Val Ontell (San Diego Mesa College), Tom Carter (St. Mary's College), Gloria Rhodes (SDSU), and Emily Woolery (tentative, Mt. San Antonio College).  Amy Wallace is developing questions the panel can use to prepare for the discussion.  The panel will focus on how libraries are contributing to their institutions' educational effectiveness not only through instruction programs, but other means as well.
