The Pepperdine University Libraries seek an enthusiastic, innovative Information Services Librarian to manage the Drescher Campus Library. The Drescher Graduate Campus comprises 50.4 acres on Pepperdine’s Malibu Campus and includes the Graziadio School of Business and Management, the School of Public Policy, and the Graduate School of Psychology and Education. The successful candidate for this job will manage all aspects of the Drescher Campus Library, working under the supervision of the Associate University Librarian for Public Services, Programs, and Campus Libraries.

Responsibilities: Oversees and provides reference assistance to students and faculty, conducts bibliographic instruction in the areas of business, public policy, and psychology. Performs collection development for library print and audiovisual materials. Serves as the liaison librarian to the university’s School of Public Policy. Serves as the university’s institutional representative to the Interuniversity Consortium of Political and Social Research (ICPSR). Serves as a non-scientific reviewer on the university’s Institutional Review Board (IRB). Serves on the university’s Emergency Response Team (ERT). Supervises 3 support staff and 4 student workers. Develops initiatives to assess and improve library services. Participates in the library’s extensive digital literacy and knowledge navigation program. Provides excellent public service to all students, faculty, and staff.

Salary and Rank: Commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position with generous insurance benefits and employer-funded retirement options.

Qualifications: MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program required. Second master’s degree in a relevant discipline (public policy or business) preferred. Relevant supervisory and/or coordination experience in an academic library or similar organization preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with emerging and current technologies related to business and governmental information resources, including WRDS, Bloomberg, and ICPSR. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Strong customer-service orientation. Effective instructional skills. Ability and desire to work as part of collegial team with diverse populations.
