Archivist (Temporary), University of California, Irvine

The University of California, Irvine Libraries is seeking a dynamic professional for the temporary position of Archivist in the Department of Special Collections and Archives. This is a full-time temporary position which will be funded for one year from the date of hire, with a possibility of extension depending on operational and resource considerations.

The Archivist oversees the processing and management of all archival and manuscript collections, including appraisal, accessioning, preparation of processing plans, arrangement and description, and preservation of materials in all formats and collecting areas; trains and supervises processing assistants, including 1-2 FTE paraprofessional archival processors and part-time students; serves on the Department’s reference desk; and may participate in instruction.

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Preferred appointment level: $46, 164 – $56,496 (Assistant Librarian I – Associate Librarian IV).
