Responsibilities:
Reports to the Head of Systems and participates as a member of the Library Systems Steering Group. Manages library technologies, including hardware, software and specialized library applications, such as public website and intranet, authentication and security systems, the integrated library system (ILS), and various licensed products. Provides leadership in the design and implementation of new solutions and enhancements to existing technology and processes, working when feasible with promising open source solutions. Preference will be given to dynamic and creative candidates with demonstrated ability to formally manage projects ensuring the best use of library staff and budgetary resources. Experience in application development with one or more open source programming languages and facility with Unix/Linux server environment is regarded as vital.
Salary:
The position will be at the rank of Assistant Librarian, full-time temporary, non-tenure-track. Salary range is from $47,460-$64,140, commensurate with rank, experience, and qualifications. The appointment will be for the period of March 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon availability of funds.
