Library Technical Services Manager, Menlo College
Menlo College seeks qualified candidates for the position of Library Technical Services Manager. Reporting to the Dean of Library Services, the Technical Services Manager is responsible for the acquisition, cataloging, processing, and maintenance of information resources in all formats – print and digital, monographic and serial. He or she will coordinate the technical services activities of the Library’s student workers and may assist in other areas of library operations.This is a full-time, permanent paraprofessional position – one of three new positions designed to improve the Library’s capabilities in the areas of technical services, systems, and access services. The work schedule allows considerable flexibility, although some evening and weekend hours may be required.
The successful candidate will have three or more years of cataloging experience, and be able to work independently as the Library’s sole cataloger. The position involves some original LC cataloging.
Experience with INNOPAC/Millennium is strongly preferred. Acquisitions and serials management expertise is not essential, although the Technical Services Manager must be willing and able to assume responsibility for both cataloging and acquisitions functions. (In-house acquisitions training will be provided, if necessary.)
