COLLEGE LIBRARIAN - Occidental College
Occidental College is seeking a College Librarian who will work collaboratively with all members of the Occidental community in executing the Library’s institutional mission. The College Librarian will be responsible for providing leadership, vision and direction of all Library operations within a team-based and collegial environment. Other responsibilities include development and implementation of strategic plans for the Library with an established record of moving from concept to implementation; developing, monitoring and controlling the Library budget; development and enhancement of collections and services; and maintaining and enhancing collaborative relationships and partnerships with other libraries and consortia. Position requirements include a Master’s degree from an ALA Accredited program or equivalent, with seven or more years of increasing responsible experience in an academic library, which includes application of new information technologies to library services, budgeting and human resources. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership and management skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a proven record in cross-institutional communication. Grant-writing and fund-raising experience is essential. Requires record of successful fiscal oversight- both operationally and strategically. This position has faculty status at the College.
