GRADUATE RESEARCH SPECIALIST/SOLO LIBRARIAN
Woodbury University’s San Diego campus invites applications for a subject specialist for its Architecture library. The Graduate Research Specialist is a half-time position reporting to the Library Director. The specialist librarian oversees the programs, services, and resources for the San Diego Campus in concert with the Woodbury University library at its main Burbank campus. This position is initially funded by a Department of Education PPOHA (Promoting Post Baccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans) grant and continues following the duration of the grant.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Include collection evaluation and development, reference, circulation, teaching a one-credit required information literacy course, and developing academic skills support services. The librarian works closely with students and faculty on site and coordinates library services and collections with the main library at the Burbank campus. Possibility of additional adjunct teaching responsibilities dependent on academic preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS: ALA-accredited MLS degree, experience with architecture or closely related collections, and strong technical skills required. Experience teaching credit-bearing courses is preferred.
SALARY: Based on grant funding of $32,000 for the first year and adjustable in succeeding years. There is potential for additional compensation teaching adjunct classes.
