This position is in the Technical Library Branch of the Technical Communication and Library Division in the Research and Intelligence Department located at China Lake, CA.

SALARY RANGE: $47,923.00 to $90,344.00 / Per Year
OPEN PERIOD:  Wednesday, July 30, 2014 to Monday, August 4, 2014
SERIES & GRADE: DA-1410-03/04
POSITION INFORMATION: Full Time – Permanent

DUTIES:
   Perform circulation and reference desk duties including customer service and research assistance to ensure customer needs are met.
   Lead the collection development and maintenance of materials to ensure library is current.
   Search the library catalog accurately using limiters, truncation, and controlled vocabulary to meet customer needs.

Basic Requirement for Librarian 1410 (You must submit a copy of your transcripts)  You must have completed one full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor’s degree; OR  completed a total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience. Your education, training, and experience should provide knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services.

For DA-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience, at the GS-07 or equivalent level, that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience with library cataloging systems such as SIRSIDynix, Worldcat, MELVYL and Library of Congress.
OR completed a master’s in library science or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or a LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR have a combination of experience and education.

For DA-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience, at the GS-09 or equivalent level, that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience with library cataloging systems such as SIRSIDynix, Worldcat, MELVYL and Library of Congress; 2) experience using science and technology electronic resources such as Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, and Aerospace Database.
OR have successfully completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education in library science or doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) related to the position; OR have a combination of experience and education.
