Information Resources & Resource Sharing (IR&RS) comprises the collection development, acquisitions, electronic resource management, document delivery and resource sharing functions of the library. This staff person will work in both public facing and technical operations in resource sharing operations. Working with students, faculty and staff to fulfill their information resource is a rewarding part of this position. Kennedy Library employs the latest resource sharing tools to supply materials to other libraries and to request materials from libraries. Kennedy library is a member of the RAPID-ILL and Link+ networks as well as the largest international network of inter-library services administered by OCLC.
Primary activities of this position include handling borrowing and lending requests for library materials from patrons; retrieving and processing requests through various databases, joint resource sharing systems and cooperative efforts with other libraries; verifying eligibility of requests; verifying bibliographic information and conducting bibliographic searches related to requests; troubleshooting problem requests. This position will also contribute to the operations in collections management using the latest software to manage the print and electronic resources owned and licensed by the library.
