The Technical Information Specialist, reporting directly to the Library Metadata Services Manager, works collaboratively as a member of the library metadata services department. This position involves working with print, digital and physical materials that support the graduate-level education and research needs of faculty, students and staff of the Naval Postgraduate School. We encourage individuals to apply who are eager to learn and apply emerging technologies and who are dedicated to providing excellent service in a rapidly evolving information environment.

Major duties include:

  • Evaluate program goals and objectives to ensure adequacy and relevancy to changing user or mission requirements.
  • Use computers and telecommunications networks to search diverse databases.
  • Implement new processes and procedures related to cataloging and metadata.
  • Interpret existing standards and guidelines for creating metadata schemas.
