Senior Assistant Librarian: Learning & Instructional Services Librarian

Starting Date: Spring, 2020

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. An earned MLS/MLIS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited institution is required at the time of application.
  2. Evidence of experience providing information literacy instruction and coordinating library information literacy programs using current methodologies and emerging instructional technologies to undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of disciplines.
  3. Evidence of engagement with trends in higher education, including, but not limited to, the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education.
  4. Evidence of experience planning, developing, and implementing library-wide information literacy assessment programs that enable continuous review, evaluation, and improvement of the library information literacy instruction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Evidence of experience collaborating with campus partners to develop, promote and assess library instruction that contribute to student success and engagement.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogical practices, instructional design theory and practice.
  3. Evidence of experience engaging in scholarly activity, professional development and service

Duties:

The primary professional responsibilities include coordinating and assessing the Library’s instruction program that supports teaching and learning. The successful candidate will establish an effective information literacy program and will explore and support new models of information delivery and use including new pedagogical approaches such as inquiry-based learning, peer-to-peer learning, game-based learning and library services that support high impact learning opportunities. He/she will work collaboratively with library faculty, staff and campus partners to integrate library resources and services into the campus’ learning management system. The incumbent will also lead a process of continuously assessing and transforming the library’s instruction program and services to meet the needs of students. Responsibilities also include service on system-wide and campus committees and task forces, and activities that foster professional growth.

This is a full-time, 12-month appointment.

Salary:

Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
