Founded in 1907, California College of the Arts (CCA) is an independent art college with 21 undergraduate programs in architecture, design, fine arts, visual studies, and writing. The college also has graduate programs in architecture, comics, curatorial practice, design, design strategy, film, fine arts, visual and critical studies, and writing. Through these programs, the college has created a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment. The Systems Librarian is responsible for the development, maintenance, support and assessment of library technologies and systems, primarily including but not limited to the integrated library system (ILS), the libraries’ website, serials management, and the college’s digital archive. The systems librarian works to continually improve these systems and related services as they increasingly becoming the primary points of patron contact with the library. They champion an agile and user-centered approach to systems development, including continuous integration, source code control, test-driven development, visually dynamic interface design, and effective user testing. The systems librarian ensures that the library systems are meeting patron usability needs and design expectations and maintaining industry standards. The systems librarian is innovative and devoted to strengthening library technologies in a flexible, dynamic, evolving media-rich art and design environment.
