ELECTRONIC RESOURCES & SYSTEMS LIBRARIAN

Reporting to the Director of Library Services, the Electronic Resources & Systems Librarian (ERSL) collaboratively supports the instructional, information, research and curriculum needs of the university by providing leadership and responsibility for planning, implementing and maintaining library digital systems, resources and services for supporting a multi-site university.

 

SOME ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

§  Works with the MCU Library team to manage and ensure access to electronic resources, which includes: subscription databases, e-books, e-journals, e-reserves and other digital content.

§  Manages and troubleshoots remote access to library resources and databases, including Waterfront and Lake County.

§  Helps to oversee proper functioning of the Library’s Integrated Library System (ILS), including managing platform changes and updates as necessary.

§  Actively participates in the Library’s information literacy instructional program, including working with the library team in the development, delivery and assessment of information literacy curriculum.

§  Coordinates the maintenance of the Library’s website and ensures compliance with existing university policies regarding copyright laws, ADA standards, University branding and style guidelines, and security policies.

§  Works to develop dynamic content delivery and enhance the user experience as evaluated from user feedback.

§  Coordinates testing and evaluation of new platforms or technologies for the library

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Masters in Library/Information Science (M.L.I.S.) from an ALA-accredited program is required. Two years of experience in an academic library setting preferred, demonstrated experience working with current technology
