Anticipated needs: Full-time and part-time temporary librarian positions (Assistant Librarian Rank) /Research, Instruction & Outreach Services. Appointments by semester.

Current Salary Range: Dependent upon experience and qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum: Graduate degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited school, or equivalent

degree if granted from outside the United States or Canada.

Required: Demonstrated reference desk service proficiency, preferably in a busy academic library, and enthusiasm for library instruction. Ability and commitment to working with a diverse campus community.

Desirable: Library instruction or teaching experience; experience with electronic resources and applications such as online indexing systems, internet, an integrated library system, and web page development; strong service commitment; excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; knowledge of current trends and issues in librarianship; willingness to serve as needed in a range of library duties, which may include assignments to provide reference and instructional service to a specific subject discipline or program area of specialization such as Education, Business, Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences or Physical or Life Sciences and/or lower division composition. Assigned duties may also include the development of access or finding tools and/or processing of specialized or digitized materials; includes evening and weekend hours. Experience in creating learning objects to be embedded within Learning Management Systems such as Moodle is also desirable.
