Pepperdine University Libraries seeks an Acquisitions Supervisor to order library materials from various vendors; check the library catalog for duplication; select bibliographic records for all ordered titles; manage purchase orders using the acquisitions module; check in serials and standing orders; manage serial orders, cancellations, and claims; assist with technical services projects; supervise student workers. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, includes an excellent benefit package, and reports to the Head of Technical Services. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Required: Minimum of two years of college; excellent computer skills including keyboarding; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent organizational skills; knowledge of bibliographic data; the ability to perform detailed work; the ability to work independently and as a team member; the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and move loaded book trucks. Digital and Archives/Special Collections Manager

Under the supervision of the University Archivist/Special Collections Librarian, the Digital and Archives/Special Collections Manager is responsible for creating Copley Library’s digital collections. This includes planning, scheduling, implementing, and establishing production work flows for digital projects and supervising and training support staff. He/she must collaborate with librarians on digital projects. The Digital and Archives/Special Collections Manager participates in the creation of documentation, finding aids, and web guides for print and digital collections. He/she provides research assistance and monitors the Archives/Special Collections Reading Room. This individual also assists with the accessioning, arranging, processing, cataloging and preserving of archival and special collections material. The Digital and Archives/Special Collections Manager works Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the University Archives/Special Collections Department. This employee works under the supervision of the University Archivist/Special Collections Librarian. The part-time Messenger Clerk positions are entry-level, as needed, exempt from civil service, and may be assigned to work at the downtown Central library or any of the 72 neighborhood branch libraries. Duties include shelving books in stacks, keeping public library spaces orderly, and assisting patrons with computer access. Candidates selected for these part-time positions will work on an as-needed basis, not to exceed 900 hours per service year with no minimum guaranteed number of hours per week or year.
