The Library
We serve a total of more than 40,000 students as well as approximately 4,000 faculty and staff. Our website (http://www.library.fullerton.edu) is a vital component of the Library’s extensive instruction program and serves as a gateway to resources: including 1.3 million books, government documents, and audiovisual materials; over 50,000 periodicals available electronically or in print; and 200 electronic databases. The staff includes 23 FTE librarians, 35 FTE paraprofessionals, and 80 student assistants.

Position
California State University Fullerton (CSUF) Pollak Library is seeking a highly collaborative individual to serve as the Social Sciences and Government Documents Librarian. This position includes responsibilities in the Library’s Instruction and Information Services unit as well as the Collections and Scholarly Communications unit. The successful candidate will provide subject-specific as well as general library services, including instruction, reference, collection development, and outreach. In the area of government documents, the librarian will curate the Pollak Library’s Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) collection. As a designated selective Federal Depository Library, the Pollak Library is required to provide public access to its FDLP collection and support for locating and accessing these materials. Other collections included in Government Documents are the California depository collection, the local city/county/regional collection, and the international collection. This position—newly created in response to Pollak Library’s recent re-organization, self-assessment, and strategic plan—will have the opportunity to be creative and innovative in building a library for the 21st century.

The California State University Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime) Library invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position of Senior Assistant Librarian. The successful candidate will have a vision for instruction and library service that is student-centered and evidence-driven. Merced College is a midsized community college located in California’s Central Valley. California State University Fullerton (CSUF) Pollak Library is seeking a librarian who is innovative, technologically adept, and service-oriented to lead the Library’s existing and growing participation in the University’s Open and Affordable Education initiatives. The Open Educational Resources (OER) Librarian will work closely with the Director of Online Education and Training and partner with librarians, faculty, and instructional designers to identify, create, adapt, and adopt open and affordable course content at the course and program level to accommodate the evolving learning, teaching, and research needs of the diverse CSUF community. In collaboration with the Scholarly Communications Librarian, the OER Librarian will contribute actively to the overall scholarly communications program, which includes open access, author rights, scholarly publishing, data management, and repositories. This position, an Assistant or Associate Librarian, oversees the department responsible for library resource processing and operations. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the position participates in collection management and works collaboratively with other librarians on resource allocations. The position serves on library committees, and participates in discussions regarding library programs, services, operations, facilities and procedures. The position reports to the Library Director.

About the Law Library:
The Mabie Law Library is an integral part of the UC Davis School of Law, and provides services that support the teaching, research, and scholarship of its students and faculty. The Library houses over 375,000 volumes in print and provides access to more than 10,000 databases which are provided through its library licenses, campus, and UC-wide license agreements.

Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience ($56,364 to $77,598)

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Collections and Metadata Librarian oversees several functional areas of library services: Sierra oversight and record quality control, resource inventory, preservation and circulation control, interlibrary loan, and cataloging, with some supervisory responsibilities. The position monitors, analyzes, and develops efficient and effective workflows; communicates with other library partners, and vendors; and has overall responsibility for data and statistics for the unit.
