The Past President chairs the Elections Committee (4 members) which calls for nominations and then runs each year's election in October. Election guidelines are posted.

Election of officers and directors-at-large shall follow the sequence shown:

Odd Years (2025, 2027, 2029)

Vice-President
Director-at-large Private
Director-at-large Community College
Secretary

Even Years (2026, 2028, 2030)

Vice-President
Director-at-large UC
Director-at-large CSU

Every 3rd Year

Treasurer (2026, 2029)
Membership Director (2025, 2028)

The Director-at-large positions are two year terms. The Vice-Presidents shall serve three years: Vice-Presidents shall succeed to the office of President and then Past President. Officer duties are described in the CARL Bylaws.
