CARL Mission

California Academic and Research Libraries (CARL) is a 501(c)(3) Public Charity (EIN 94-293694) whose mission is to provide opportunities for the professional growth of its members by conducting workshops and arranging programs; to encourage the exchange of ideas and information relating to library cooperation and development; to disseminate educational information oriented to those working in academic and research libraries; and to support and, when appropriate, participate in programs of other regional and local organizations in California in order to promote and improve library service to the academic and research community.

Sponsorship Opportunities

As a member of the academic library community in California, we rely on members who can contribute to fund scholarships and professional development opportunities for our members and make the conference successful for all librarians who attend. 

Ilene F. Rockman Scholarship Fund 

• Your contribution to the Ilene F. Rockman Scholarship Fund or the CARL Research Award provides the opportunity for a librarian to attend either the CARL or ACRL Conference, or the opportunity for librarians to conduct research on a topic important to librarianship. 
• Each recipient receives a $1,000 award.
• Sponsors who opt in to public recognition will be recognized on the conference program and website.

Child Care Voucher Fund 

• Your contribution will be used to offer vouchers of up to $250 per librarian to assist with child care costs. 
• Sponsors who opt in to public recognition will be recognized on the conference program and website.

Presenter Travel Grants Fund 

• Your contributions will assist librarians who may work at universities without ample travel or professional development budgets to present at the conference. 
• Each recipient receives a $500 award.
• Sponsors who opt in to public recognition will be recognized on the conference program and website.

General Donation Sponsor 

• Excess donations will help fund scholarships and costs associated with the conference.
• Suggested donation is $15, but any amount is appreciated!
• A $600 or higher sponsorship includes a free registration for one individual in your organization to attend the conference.
• Sponsors who opt in to public recognition will be recognized on the conference program and website.
